How Many Bathrooms Should My Home Have?

If you go into a new build home you may see five bathrooms and three bedrooms. This may seem very strange as there are more bathrooms than places for people to sleep! It is the norm of society today. Bathrooms are very expensive and are a status symbol to all who come in to see them. There are many different types of bathrooms you can have in a home which makes it even more exciting to look at.

The first very traditional bathroom is the one that has a vanity, toilet, tub and shower. These you will find in many homes and actually almost all homes have at least one of these bathrooms.

The next type of bathroom is a half bath. A half bath is typically a small sink and a toilet. These are very convenient on a floor in the home with no bedrooms. If you don’t have bedrooms then you probably do not need to have a large vanity with space for things like toothbrushes or hairbrushes.  Then last on our list of most popular bathroom types is the bathroom that separates the toilet from everything else. This could be extremely helpful when you have children getting ready for school. One can use the toilet while the other is brushing their teeth.

Now that you know about all the different types of bathrooms you have to decide how many you need in your home. First imagine all the people you have in your family now and how many you may have in the future. Typically for four people or less you will want two bathrooms. If you go over four people you many want to consider a third bathroom. That doesn’t mean all of these have to be full baths, check out your options and see what fits your lifestyle the best.
